William G. Deubert, Psy.D.

Dr. William Deubert earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from The George Washington University in 2001. He has over twenty years of experience treating individuals in a variety of therapeutic settings ranging from schools to residential and inpatient facilities to outpatient private practice. Dr. Deubert specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with academic, motivational, behavioral, and emotional difficulties. Additionally, he works regularly with older adults, providing both individual therapy and parent support. He has been in private practice in Northern Virginia since 2003.

Dr. Deubert's training and theoretical orientation is psychodynamic. However, he frequently integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT) into his treatment approach based on the unique needs of the patient and the presenting problems at hand. He strongly believes in a multidisciplinary team approach, and routinely collaborates with therapists, psychiatrists, and any other professionals who are involved with a particular patient and/or family. Dr. Deubert strives to create a safe space where individuals can delve into the patterns or circumstances that have led them to seek therapy, while also confronting roadblocks with directness and humor when appropriate.
